Golf Course
Laleham Golf Course is a challenging 18-hole parkland course and stands on
98 acres of meadowland on the opposite side of the River Thames to Laleham
Village.
At around 6,300 yards, it provides a fair but testing challenge to golfers of
all standards; with five par 3’s and three par 5’s the flat terrain ensures that
a round - or even two - can be enjoyed with reasonable ease. The par 70 course
is filled with challenging holes, by way of narrow fairways, well placed water
hazards and tight shots into
the undulating greens. Noted for its outstanding all year round condition,
Laleham is known locally for its excellent drainage and always being open when
other courses close due to the weather conditions.
The course has 2 relatively new holes...a long par 4 with lateral water hazard
all the way down the left that has earned itself the stroke index one and a new
short hole par 3 to a narrow green with bunkers back and front!
The course is a fascinating mix that combines dog-legs, occasional carries over
water and trees lined fairways; while golfers will require a fine putting touch
on the undulating immaculate greens to score well. From the back tees many holes
place a premium on the accuracy of your tee shot. The course is over 100 years
old and whilst it is not a forest course, there are plenty of fully mature trees
to enclose certain holes. To spice it up further, the bunkers tend to be deep
and pot hole styled; they wouldn't look out of place on a links!
DISTANCE MARKERS
The distance of the hole is indicated on the marker posts on each tee box.
Fairway markers identify distances measured to the centre of the green. All
distances are in yards. Deduct 10% to convert to metres.
