Laleham Dress Code and Etiquette
PLAYING THE COURSE
Laleham members and staff are proud of their Course and are delighted to share the golfing challenge.
However, we would respectfully ask you to observe the following :-
On Arrival
- Please park only in the Main Car Park, never on the grass verges or roadways, or in those spaces
reserved for Club officials.
- All golfing visitors, including members’ guests, must report to the office before play and
before entry to the Clubhouse.
- Locker rooms only must be used for changing, never the car park.
On The Course
- Golfers must have their own golf clubs and bag.
- Play from the tee of the day:
|
Monday - Thursday

|
Friday - Sunday
|

|
- There are two starting points only - the first and tenth tees. Please alternate with those in the middle of their round.
- Replace divots and repair pitch marks on greens.
- Smooth over club and footprint marks in bunkers and replace rakes.
Dress on the Course
Smart golfing attire is required at all times, plus:
- No jeans, tracksuits, tee shirts, football colours, or vests may be worn.
- Trousers, shorts, or cut-offs must be tailored.
- Shirts must be tucked into waistbands, unless specifically designed to be worn outside.
- Sports socks must be worn with shorts.
- The tucking of trousers into socks is not permitted.
- Players must wear recognised golf shoes. No trainers or similar shoes are allowed.
Course Etiquette
Slow play is to be avoided at all times. Call through players if a ball is lost or if you lose a hole. The Club Captain has priority
on the tee and should be invited to play through during a round.
DRESS IN THE CLUBHOUSE
The Lounge
- Please wear smart, casual clothing, preferably not that worn on the Course.
- Denim jeans, tracksuits, sports shoes, topcoats and headgear are not permitted.
- Shirts must be tucked into waistbands, unless designed to be worn outside.
- Tailored shorts may be worn in the Clubhouse until 7.00pm.
The Dining Room
- Shorts may not be worn in the Dining Room, unless the Captain or Secretary give special permission to do so.
- After 7.00pm, “Jacket and Tie” (which may be interpreted as jacket and roll necked sweater) must be worn, unless at the discretion of the Captain or Secretary.
- The dress code for individual social events will be displayed on the notice board in the Lounge or Foyer.

|
MOBILE PHONES
These must be silenced on the Course and in and around the Clubhouse.
They may, however, be used in the locker rooms.
|
|
It is the responsibility of members and guests to maintain standards of etiquette in a game which has traditions spanning nearly 600 years.
Should a problem arise, the Club Secretary will be happy to help.
