Laleham Local Rules
Out of Bounds - Rule 27
- Beyond any hedge, fence, ditch, road or line of white marker posts bounding the course.
- Beyond the white line/marker posts behind the 8th green. In any car park.
- In or over the furrow to the left of the 16th fairway when playing the 16th hole.
- On or over the practice putting green or the road behind the 18th green and the 1st tee.
Water Hazards - Rule 26
- The pond on the 9th hole. The ditches crossing the 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th holes.
Lateral Water Hazards - Rule 26
- The river running along the 13th and 14th holes.
Ground Under Repair: Play Prohibited - Rule 25-1
- All putting greens, including temporary winter greens, other than the green of the hole being played.
Protection of Young Trees
- If a tree identified by a stake or protective wrapping interferes with the players stance or the area of the intended swing, the
ball must be lifted, without penalty, and dropped in accordance with the procedure prescribed in Rule 24-2b(i) (Immovable Obstruction). The ball may be cleaned when so lifted
Obstructions - Rule 24
- Stones in bunkers are movable obstructions; Rule 24-1 applies.
- The furrow to the left of the 15th fairway is an immovable obstruction (except when playing the 16th hole-see 1 above) and relief is available under Rule 24-2b(i).
- The rustic fences bordering the practice putting green, and the 18th green and the 1st tee are immovable obstructions and relief is available under Rule 24-2b(i).
- All fixed sprinkler heads are immovable obstructions and relief from interference by them may be under Rule 24-2. In addition, if such an obstruction on or within two clubs
lengths of the putting green of the hole being played intervenes on the line of play between the ball and the hole, the player may obtain relief, without penalty, as follows:
If the ball lies off the green but not in a hazard and is within two clubs lengths of the intervening obstruction, it may be lifted, cleaned and dropped at the nearest point
to where the ball lay which (a) is not nearer the hole, (b) avoids such interference and (c) is not in a hazard or on the putting green.
Preferred Lies/Winter Rules
When the sign in the clubhouse indicates that this rule is in operation the following procedure should be followed:
- A ball lying on "any closely mown area" through the green may, without penalty, be marked then moved or lifted and placed within 6 inches of where it originally lay but not nearer the hole. After the ball has been moved so placed or placed it is in play.
